BML 1970 to Present Journals

Goal:

Bring selected journals with 1970-to-present publication dates back to the Biomedical Library from the Annex. Send remaining 1970-to-present journals to SRLF, or withdraw in lieu of deposit.

Linh Huynh and Jeff Williams have identified 718 journal titles located at the Annex that have volumes published from 1970-to-present. Jeff will be reviewing these titles for possible return to the BML's on-site collection.

There are many steps in this review:

- Cross reference this list for titles already selected to go to SRLF or withdraw

- Of the remaining material, identify what should be brought back (independent of the question of space), and what should be withdrawn

- Attach pre-existing measurement data for titles targeted for return to BML

- Determine if size for material is available in on-site collection

- Work with Library Facilities to return materials and shift on-site collection

- Work with Ryan and his shop to send remaining materials to SRLF, or withdraw in lieu of deposit

Method:

Linh Huynh generated a Boolean of titles, and cross-referenced this list against a small manually generated sample for accuracy and completeness.

Additional comments:

Now that the BML material selected to go to the SRLF is on its way, we're actively developing the list of what remains, and making decisions on bringing back, tagging to go to SRLF, or straight to withdraw. We want to complete this, and do a shift of the on-site BML journal collection during Summer 08. Linh Huynh, David Pollett, and Jeff Williams are working together to massage the data. Kevin Westerfeld and David Pollett will be leading the effort on planning for the journal shifting.

BML 1970 and beyond project
