JSTOR

Goal:

Provide UCLA with hard copies of JSTOR journals necessary for archive; maintain holdings of all JSTOR titles until UCLA has verified titles in archive; withdraw holdings of JSTOR titles following archive verification in accordance with UCSD standards and bibliographer approval.

Method:

UCLA/JSTOR (currently represented by John Doing) will provide lists of titles requested for the archive.  DBM will coordinate with UCSD bibliographers regarding the titles to be sent and the titles to be retained at UCSD and send volumes accordingly.  Upon determining what titles UCLA has received and verified at the end of each phase, DBM will withdraw any remaining volumes of verified titles after consulting with UCSD bibliographers to determine if any verified titles are still necessary to be held at UCSD. 

Processing:

As of May 2007, UCLA/JSTOR has complete phase 2 of this project.  DBM is currently in the process of withdrawing titles from the SSH Stacks, Annex, and Micro collections.

Comments & Updates:

DBM withdrew 1,916 (287 linear feet) SSH JSTOR volumes on 8/3/07. All of these volumes had been verified by the JSTOR project.
