SRLF Duplicate Checking Through Connexion
Move ca. 80,000 volumes from SSH Stacks to the Annex
Summer 2006-
Sam Dunlap
DBM has located 43,956 volumes in this collection that have not yet been checked to determine if they are candidates for either SRLF or for deaccession. During the fall 2007, DBM students will check these volumes against the SRLF holdings.
Jan. 22, 2008: DBM has identifed ca. 20,000 volumes to withdraw. DBM is giving withdraw lists to Facilities so they can pull and discard.
A search of the system revealed 80,000 single-volume monographs that had never circulated since the initial Roger data load in 1988. These were pulled and sent to the Annex in summer 2006
DBM is investigating the volumes that were not found on the shelf by checking to see if they were deposited in SRLF but never had their locations changed. Records not found in SRLF are being withdrawn. Books that had previously been identified to be withdrawn have, for the most part, been processed. Books that have been identified for transfer to SRLF remain on the shelves until room is made for them in the SRLF shipments. DBM students are working on coding the rest of the items.
Statistics as of 2/20/2008:
48,276 items remaining
1,823 coded as KEEP
6,369 coded as SRLF
27,117 coded as WITHDRAW
12,967 remain to be coded
